The Power of a Tenth!

This past weekend was nothing short of extraordinary.

Jamie Alvord did what seemed impossible, he broke the kilo track record by one tenth of a second. That’s right, one tenth! And in doing so, he not only shattered a record but also helped us exceed our fundraising goal, raising over $15K for Team Arnav and osteosarcoma research.

To Jamie, what a ride. Your strength, precision, and heart were all on display, as you inspired everyone who witnessed it. We are beyond grateful.

And to dear Mandy, thank you for being the relentless force behind the scenes. Your efforts in raising awareness for osteosarcoma and honoring Arnav’s life and legacy did not go unnoticed.

I am sure Arnav was watching over from somewhere, and when Jamie crossed that finish line, he probably just smiled and said,

“He did it”

There were hundreds cheering Jamie on at the Velodrome. Every shout, every clap, every moment was electric. The energy in that space reminded us that when you think something is too hard to achieve, you can look to Jamie—or Arnav—and find inspiration. They did it with Relentless positivity. And we can too.

Thank you to Velodrome and its partners Jorge, Jake, Gabe amongst others for graciously hosting and helping team put this together. Thank you to Coach Andrew, whose quiet strength and belief in all of us drives so much forward.

Thank you to every donor, every spectator, every friend, and every community member who sent messages, showed up, and cheered with their hearts wide open.

On a personal note, this event helped my family and I in more ways than we can count:

  • It reminded me how deeply Arnav’s spirit is woven into all of us.

  • It showed me what determination and grit looked like when Jamie pushed through that final lap.

  • It proved that people do care deeply about one another by fighting osteosarcoma in this case, and they’re willing to show up and give generously.

  • It got Nitin back on the saddle - to keep fighting this horrendous disease, and to keep showing up with hope.

  • It made me proud. Proud of our community, proud of our heroes, proud of the love that surrounded us all night.

From the bottom of my heart: thank you.

Let’s keep going, strong, united, and inspired by Arnav’s courage and Jamie’s power.

With love and gratitude,
